Bringing your pup home is such an exciting time but it can also be a bewildering time in the early days-weeks-months.

We have devised a really fun and thorough Pup Training Programme that will create great trust between you and your pup and enable you to communicate and understand them brilliantly.

“We are able to help you plan for the new arrival and coach you to begin to build a great relationship with your dog based on love, respect and trust.”

Ian, Co-founder and Dog Behaviourist

We have a lot of experience in working with families as they adapt to the new situation and make sure we can coach you whatever your age!

“Ian loves and understands dogs and wants to guide your family to gently train the dog in a way that works for your family.”

Cam and his beautiful cockapoo Wilma

We work to a structured and conclusive training plan and make sure we are always by your side and on the phone to support you.

It is a really exciting time and with some coaching and our support it will be a positive experience you’ll never forget.

Some Principles for you to follow

  • Your dog is still very much a pup in terms of maturity, always managing your own expectations in terms of his reactions and attention span
  • Respect his space. As with all dogs it is right and sensible to respect their personal space and to make sure people coming into his world do too
  • Every dog is as much an individual as we are, with their own foibles as we have
  • Remember to reward at the time of the desired behavior, and not during an undesired behaviour
  • Even if you feel frustrated with him, take a breath and do not show it. He will be very able to pick up on frustrated tone of voice and body language and be confused at best, scared at worst
  • If it goes a bit wrong just move on from the situation and do not worry about it
  • Tone of voice and body language are really important. If you can think of a calm & confident leader to copy in your voice and body language, it will make it natural for him to trust what you ask of him. Summon your inner thespian skills!
  • Observe and call time out if you see your pup showing any signs he has had enough (lip licking, head turn away, baring teeth and growling)
